Chef Edward Lee is a celebrity chef, author and restaurateur. His restaurants include 610 Magnolia, Nami and Succotash. He earned an Emmy nomination for his role on “The Mind of a Chef,” was a judge on “Top Chef” and wrote and hosted the documentary “Fermented.” He has also earned the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award in 2021 as well as the 2019 James Beard Award.
This event is first come, first seated at the Shannon Staub Library. Doors open at 5 p.m., program starts at 6 p.m. Books will be available for sale, and author will be signing books after the program.

The traditional North Port Parade, sponsored by Quality TV, will commence at 5 p.m., with a theme of “Poinsettias in Paradise.” As always, spectator admission and parking are both free.
The Poinsettia Parade will travel south down Sumter Blvd., ending at the City Center Front Green, 4970 City Hall Blvd., where the Poinsettia Festival will be held before and after the parade. In the past, the parade has featured more than 50 units, including local businesses and organizations.
Although we are starting early, at 3 p.m., the Poinsettia Festival, presented by Resurrection Pools, will continue to feature the annual tree lighting ceremony, mobile food vendors, entertainment, attractions, merchandise vendors, and much more.

Dive into the holiday spirit with a uniquely Florida twist at the North Port Aquatic Center! On Dec. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, Santa Claus will be trading in his sleigh for a pair of swim trunks to join us for a festive swim. This special event offers a perfect opportunity to create tropical holiday memories with your family.
Kids and parents alike can enjoy a variety of fun activities, including holiday-themed games and take-home crafts. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits and cameras—there will be plenty of Instagram-worthy photo opportunities with Santa in this sunny setting! And, of course, no holiday event would be complete without some delicious treats. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available at the concession stand to keep everyone in the holiday mood.
Before heading home, each child will receive a specialty goody bag as a memento of this fun-filled day.
Please note that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost for the event is $10 per child with complimentary admission for supervising adults. Due to limited space, pre-registration is highly recommended. You can register online at NorthPortFL.gov/Registration or stop by the North Port Aquatic Center to sign up in person.
